London had many different jobs before he became known as a writer. The author had two daughters, Joan and Bess, with his first wife Bess. They were divorced and he remarried before he died of kidney disease at a young age. London was involved in a number of political causes of his era, such as socialism, women's suffrage and prohibition. One of his books, "The Sea Wolf" was the basis for the first full-length American movie. He was also one of the first public figures to earn money by endorsing products, including grape juice and suits. London is best known for his adventurous novels.
