Kwame Alexander Website:bookinaday.com Birthplace: Brooklyn, NY Author Biography Kwame Alexander was born in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to writing, Alexander has owned several publishing companies, written for stage and television, recorded a CD, performed at schools and conferences around the world, produced jazz and book festivals, hosted a radio show, worked for the U.S. government, and taught high school. He is the Founding Director of Book-in-a-Day, a program that teaches teenagers to write and publish their own books. Mr. Alexander was awarded the 2015 Newbery Medal and the Coretta Scott King Author Honor for Crossover. He resides in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife and children. Updating Results ...
