Prior to her interests in writing, she worked as a policy professional and a researcher and consultant on issues of education and criminal justice. She attended Vassar College where she recieved her Bachelor's in Political Science. Later she attended UC Berkeley where she earned a Masters in Public Policy. Amina never knew what she wanted growing up but she did know that she had a love for writing. In her free time she enjoys watching birds' nest outside of her window, finding small parks in big cities, swimming in warm water, and reading.
